Filming

Due to unforseen circumstances, I haven't been able to film for the Easter deadline. I have spoken to my teacher about this and due to the fact that I had no control over the issue, I am going to film everything over Easter and edit my footage on the Monday when we get back to college. So my video will be ready for the Tuesday, with possibly just some minor adjustments to be made.

Filming

Unfortunately, due to the weather I can't film the shots I need outside today as it's forecast rain between 11 and 1, which is the only time I can film outside! However I can still film in the college theatre from 3-4. I'm planning to film the song from start to finish with lots of different shots. This way, I will have backup footage to fill in black spaces in my video if needed.

 

 

Pictures!

Yesterday afternoon, Charlotte (another media student) and I went out onto the college field and filmed the clouds moving. We had to wait for around 20 minutes so that we had enough footage to speed up. The tripod that Charlotte borrowed wouldn't tilt back, and we didn't have time to go back and swap it as the rain clouds were starting to appear! So we used our initiative and balanced it on two rocks. Although this was quite precarious it seemed to work quite well!

Another update

I have booked the college theatre from 3-4pm on wednesday to film for my video and my performer is also available to film from 11-1pm outside. At the minute, the weather forecast looks quite promising for wednesday. Fingers crossed it'll be sunny!

Update...

Today I have taken the rare opportunity to film some clouds moving for the end of the video. There were a few birds flying about so I hope it's not too noticeable on the video! I'm going to edit the footage tomorrow as there is someone on the editing suite I was using today and I don't have any more study periods today to do it in. Fingers crossed it's OK to use!
I hope to video the sunset at some point this week or the beginning of next week so I hope there is a day when it's nice weather and not too cloudy!

Update on my video

Over the past few months I have been concentrating on shooting my video and doing a bit of editing. However I now have a problem. The person I originally wanted to be in my video now works on a weekend, both Saturday and Sunday. This means that I now can't film her when I need to. So I am looking at changing my cast. There is also a lack of cameras available to borrow from the college to film with, and due to the fast approaching deadline, I am slightly worried that I won’t be able to film all that I need to before the deadline. I hope to book a camera for this coming weekend to film with a new performer and hopefully keep editing next week. I have already done all the shots indoors, and most of the shots outdoors. However I need to re-shoot some of the shots outdoors as it's too dark on the video. If the weather is good at the weekend, I should have all of my footage and it will be ready for the deadline next Friday!

Exams are over!

I sat my last exam a couple of days ago, so I can now focus all my attention on shooting and editing for my music video. I am also going to start thinking about my ancillory texts and take necessary pictures for them while I'm filming. Doing it while I'm filming will keep everything the same and it's also much easier than taking screen shots of my video. The pictures will also be better quality.
